TW Fest - Short Readings
8 Mar - 8 MarJoin the Space for the latest of our candlelit rehearsed readings with a series of underperformed shorts by Tennessee Williams.
Known for classics such as A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams also wrote many short plays early in his career. To date, these have been rarely performed in the UK.
To coincide with the Wandering Artist Collective’s production of their new play Soeur Dubois and our screening of the acclaimed 1951 film of A Streetcar Named Desire, The Space team has unearthed some gems, curios and surprises from a pivotal figure in American theatre renowned for emotionally charged writing that explores human fragility, desire, and societal pressures.
Presented by a team of talented actors and directors script-in-hand with minimal staging, this evening of shorts is an ideal way to learn more about the work of one of the greats.
Tickets are FREE, although please do consider a donation to ensure we can keep producing theatre on the Isle of Dogs
