The Last Supper

11 Mar - 15 Mar

Death comes to us all in the end.

But for them, it’s the beginning. And the middle. And the end.

Trapped in a seemingly inescapable kitchen, a man and a woman prepare their last supper over and over again, having forgotten the recipe, and most importantly, each other. And yet, there is something strangely familiar about the whole situation…

To put a full stop to their sentence, they must find the right words to solve the puzzle of their past. Can they remember in time?

A modern take on a kitchen-sink drama that explores the ‘what if?’ moments where we could have made different choices, and the domino effect they have through time and space.

Reviews:

This was an impressive piece of work. An hour of tightly crafted material that was engaging and theatrically bold. The piece was beautifully delivered with a clarity, pace and polish that kept us engaged. […] Each return to the meal offered a chance to cook something new, whilst the pile of previously prepared ingredients continued to grow and intermingle, a kind of compost of human history. The piece was about a particular coupling of this man and this woman, and yet also about the history of relationships between men and women. A sweep of history, that seemed to invite us to think about gender identity, the nature of love and the impact of the choices we make in our lives. […] The script moved between literary styles, all well thought-through and confidently scripted. Each engagement with the couple was different and yet followed the same game-like pattern. […] A compelling, engaging and truly original piece of work” – Jeremy Harrison and Dr. Joseph Dunne-Howrie, Rose Bruford College
