January: Lyrical and dramatic music for violin and piano including works by Bach, Schumann, Grieg and Andrew Campling

An hour-long recital by Kiok Son, violin, and Andrew Campling, piano

A highly varied programme including classics, folk music and ragtime!

Followed by complimentary tea and coffee. We will also be hosting a fundraising bake sale after the performance.

All proceeds of this concert are donated to The Space.

Kiok Son – violin

Kiok Son was born in Korea and started playing the violin at the age of twelve. In 2018 she performed Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the Sejong Chamber Orchestra. In 2020 Kiok accepted an offer from the Royal College of Music to do a Master of Performance degree with Professor Radu Blidar. An ardent orchestral musician, Kiok has performed with the RCM Symphony Orchestra under Thomas Zehetmair and with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe under Mats Zetterqvist. Kiok is currently based in London, and performs regularly with a number of orchestras including the Marcel Sinfonia. 

Andrew Campling – piano

A graduate of Keble College, Oxford, Andrew gained a MMus in Composition at Goldsmiths, London. He directs the London Docklands Singers, the Thames Chamber Choir, the Choir of the London School of Economics, and the Marcel Sinfonia. Andrew is a member of the Ivors Academy of Composers and Songwriters. Five CDs of his music have been produced including Piano Music, which was recorded here at The Space using the Steinway grand piano.
