My Ex-Lover Turkey
15 Nov - 15 NovMy Ex-Lover Turkey is a funny, tender and political solo show with live saxophone. In Scotland, an immigrant collects donations at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, falls in love, and tries to start again. But as romance blooms, his “ex-lover” begins to speak through memory, music and everything left unsaid.
Blending storytelling, music and tragicomedy, the show moves between Edinburgh gardens, Glasgow nights and memories of home, exploring language, grief, masculinity, migration and the strange ache of belonging to more than one place. Personal, playful and full of music, My Ex-Lover Turkey asks whether anyone can fully love or be fully known in another country, another language, and a life built far from a home he no longer recognises.
