Let The B*tch Out

8 Jul - 12 Jul

“It’s always like ‘she’s angry, she’s a crazy b*tch’” and it’s like – why? Maybe she’s just – angry? Why are we seeing the same narrative being shown again and again? What are all these ‘ugly’, ‘crazy’ emotions that are being labelled and gendered? What even is ‘healthy’ anger? What elements are being taught to us and passed down generation to generation?

Explore these questions through a collection of anonymous voices and fragments of their memories. Let’s hear their truth and shine a light onto their lived experiences where maybe there wasn’t space for it before. Through images, movement, installations you’ll be immersed into these statements and maybe get a chance to write your own.

Part verbatim Theatre, installation and physical theatre, Let the B*tch Out is brought to you by an ensemble of international artists. Produced by Fury Entertainment with the support of Covered in Jam and the Grotowski Institute.

Fury Entertainment is a young female-led production company. With a strong emphasis on new writing and supporting emerging artists, we spring our roots from feminism, queer culture and fringe theatre and aim to bring female-driven and under-represented stories to the stage. We are about one thing: urgent, diverse, furious story-telling.

. “This is necessary Theatre” – Audience Response

.”Through verbatim theatre, physical choreography integrated with text and with an accompanying visual installation, the production presents a multitude of deeply personal storie” – Seen anything lately?

.” Despite the emotional intensity of these themes, director and writer Ellie Brewster handles them with remarkable sensitivity, creating a safe space where difficult conversation can unfold with care and respect. “ – Seen anything lately?

.”LET THE B*TCH OUT is a bold, ensemble driven piece that gives voice to the often overlooked narratives of how anger and gender intersect, and certainly deserve to reach wider audiences.” – Seen anything lately

“LET THE B*TCH OUT” Review

“How little I express anger. Usually if I do express it, it’s not like the way we expect anger to come out.”
