Ivy Day Livestream
6 Aug - 6 Aug“I’ve worked my entire life for this. Eighteen years of essays and APs and arguments with parents and missing out on parties to even have the smallest chance to get into an Ivy. And I’m gonna get in. I’m going to MAKE IT. Whatever it takes.”
They’re the most prestigious universities in America: Harvard. Princeton. Yale. Columbia. Brown. Cornell. UPenn. Dartmouth.
And all eight of them release their admissions decisions on the same day.
In an American high school, six friends eagerly await the release of admissions decisions. But tension grows as the hour passes, forcing them to grapple with the pressures and prejudices driving their desire to get into The Ivy League. A new play by Arianna Muñoz, IVY DAY is a darkly entertaining interrogation of the rivalry, elitism, and systemic biases prevalent in higher education.
Arianna Muñoz is a Mexican-American creative. Her debut feature screenplay, MARY SHELLEY, was a semifinalist for the 2023 Nicholl Fellowship (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences).
