The Trojan Women of Today

Anchored in a classical text and interweaving it with current affairs, The Trojan Women of Today brings together the past and the present through a fresh approach to Euripides’ tragedy.

The performance creates a profound discourse between Euripides’ ancient heroines and the tragic figures from our own time. This is the story of Hecuba, Andromache, Cassandra, and all the unnamed women of Troy. It could also be Tseneat’s story from Tigray, Razan’s from Syria, or an unnamed woman’s from Iraq.

The horror is the same regardless of whether it happens 2,500 years ago or in 2026. Euripides in direct dialogue with our time.
