This question swirls around Simonetta’s one-woman show, Health is a Privilege. In a world where certainty is currency, how do you survive when you have no answers?

A play for anyone who has not been believed—who has argued their case in the courtroom of a doctor’s office; who has had to prove their reality to those they thought would always care. How do we cope with pain we cannot name, only numb?

From the kaleidoscope of these questions emerges Health is a Privilege—a stark, funny and deeply visceral one-woman counterattack to “Keep Calm and Carry On.”

Through live guitar, physical theatre and sharp character work, it exposes the realities of chronic pain, trauma, mental illness and addiction—all tinged with a clever comeback.

Simonetta is a Slovak-born London-based actor, writer, director and multidisciplinary artist working across theatre, film, music and visual art.

Her practice is rooted in personal experience and explores themes including invisible illness, trauma, addiction, mental health, social injustice and the body. She is interested in creating work that makes invisible experiences visible and gives audiences access to perspectives that are often overlooked or misunderstood.

Simonetta moved to London in 2019 to pursue a career in the performing arts. She has worked across theatre and film, including devising and performing internationally, and has developed original work as both a performer and creator.

Health is a Privilege is her latest solo project, combining autobiographical performance, physical storytelling and live music.
