SpaceWorks Presents: The Bacchae

Beneath gathering shadows, an ancient prophecy awakens through the voices of women long dismissed and now unbound. A mysterious stranger arrives in Thebes, a king declares war against a god, and a city begins its terrifying descent into ecstasy, obsession and bloodshed—led by the Bacchae, the women who leave the city to become something wilder, truer, and unstoppable. As faith and power collide, the boundaries between order and chaos dissolve, and the chorus of women draws ever closer to a final reckoning from which no one can escape.

Experience The Bacchae—Euripides’ breathtaking Greek tragedy—in a bold new adaptation filled with haunting imagery, ritualistic splendor, and unforgettable dramatic execution. This is a story of divine vengeance, human pride, and the darkness that lies beneath civilisation, told through the ecstatic power and fury of the Bacchae women.

Please note, the performance on Sunday the 23rd takes place at the Crossrail Place Roof Garden, NOT the Space Theatre.
