What if Mean Girls was set in a church? A Welsh church? What if The Plastics weren’t The Plastics and they were in fact three old Welsh women who live for gossiping, bickering, and Tipping Point reruns. Pews at Ten, anyone?

Meryl, Dylis and Rona take their usual spot on the front pew of St Davids cathedral. Pillars of their community, friends to a handful, and the town gossip for all. These ladies aren’t familiar with chaos one day, news comes in of a special Saturday, with a very special guest….Airtight dialogue carries whip smart wit as they launch into NDAs (can anyone remember the order of the letters?), hors d’oeuvres (does anyone know how to pronounce it?) and the bumblings of new local, David (can you really call an English man local?)

With an authentic Welsh voice at it’s heart, Pews at Ten is sharp, cutting, yet ultimately uplifting and joyous. Some leave and some return but our ladies remain, and the love for their community bellows in this heartwarming, hilarious production.

Novem Ensemble are a collective of fresh faced creatives with a love for the wild, the whimsy and the silly. Recent graduates of East 15 Acting School, they are creating new work driven by individual roots, stories untold and the love for making people laugh, cry….or sometimes cry laughing!

Pews at Ten began at East15s Launch Festival in May, and has since been to it’s hometown, St David’s, for a sold out run of utter joy. The gang are heading back to St David’s in March to perform at a long running Welsh creative festival, and they may or may not have their sights set on a certain theatre festival up in Edinburgh later in the year…. They are all buzzing to keep this show alive, and can’t wait to meet new theatres, new audiences, and new faces.
