Wine Dark Short Film Festival - 6pm

6 Oct - 6 Oct

The Wine Dark Short Film Festival (WDSFF) is a London-based film festival dedicated to mental health and neurodiversity. Founded by 3 Mediterranean filmmakers and actors, the festival aims to showcase the often-unsung voices in our industry.

It will be an opportunity for filmmakers to connect with like-minded creatives. Film talks and Q&As from Writer- Director Mark AC Brown and casting assistant  Ana Duarte are also part of our programme. The venue is fully accessible, and the screenings will be relaxed to accommodate for neurodivergent guests, as well as captioned with subtitles.

The awards presented at the end of the festival will include categories for Best Short, International Film, Best Disability and Neurodiversity Narratives and more.

‘Wine Dark’ is the way Homer describes the colour of the Mediterranean sea in The Iliad and The Odyssey. We chose it to represent our production company to honour our directors’, Andreane Rellou, Tessa Battaiotto and Kat Sigalas, shared Mediterranean heritage and passion for classic texts and literature.

Wine Dark is an independent creative production company, formed in London in 2024, with a focus on international projects and collaborations.

Our aim is to encourage diversity and inclusivity in our industry by championing up-and-coming talent and developing works that align with our values. We are particularly interested in depictions of mental health, disability, neurodivergence and linguistic diversity.

We offer workshops, mentoring, and the Wine Dark Film Festival (WDFF) which is scheduled for Autumn 2024 in collaboration with The Space Theatre in London.
