Perform at the Late Bloom Arts Festival

Calling all artists and performers. Want to take part in Late Bloom, a summer arts festival of theatre, comedy, music and family friendly entertainment? We have performance slots available and provide performance fees to cover expenses.

Now entering its 4th year at the beautiful Crossrail Place Roof Garden in Canary Wharf, the Late Bloom Arts Festival offers the opportunity for artists to showcase their work, build their audience and connect with other artists. All performances at the Roof Garden are free for audiences.

The Late Bloom Arts Festival is a celebration of theatre, dance, music and family friendly entertainment, all taking place over Bank Holiday Weekend! Who said you need to leave London to get into the festival spirit?

The dates are:

Thursday 23rd  and Friday 24th August : 7-9pm

Saturday 25th August : 12-6pm : Fun for all the family with performances by, and for, young people

Sunday 26th August : 10am-4pm

What we are looking for:

  • Applications from artists working in comedy, music, theatre, dance, spoken word and family friendly entertainment (preference will be given to Tower Hamlets based artists).
  • Engaging work that can be performed outdoors with minimal tech requirements.
  • Performances which last between 15 minutes and an hour.
  • Those interested in participatory activity with children as part of the fun for all the family day on Saturday. For example arts and crafts workshops.

 What we’re not looking for

  • Performances with complicated tech requirements (i.e. rigged lighting / projection)
  • Performances with content that is inappropriate for children. The performance space is surrounded by an area open to the public where children / young people can walk past. This doesn’t mean it has to be a ‘children’s show’, it just can’t be inappropriate for children.
  • If you are applying to be part of the fun for all the family day the show MUST be appropriate for children.

Each act will be paid a £50 performance expenses fee.

To apply please e-mail adam@space.org.uk with details of your act and running time.

We look forward to hearing from you.
