We at the Space hope you are having a magical Christmas celebration and wishing you a Happy New Year. Now that your presents have all been opened, and the turkey is long gone, come to the Space to enjoy one last night of Christmas revelry, all for a great cause!
On the twelfth day of Christmas,
the Space did send to me
Sixty people dining,
Fifty candles burning,
Thirty bottles of wine,
Ten figgy puddings,
Eight waiters waiting,
Seven sprigs of holly,
Six types of veggies,
Only thirty-five pounds!
Four hours of entertainment,
Three-course meal,
Two roasting turkeys,
And a merry Christmas feast at the Space!
Join us for a traditional Dickensian Twelfth Night Feast on Thursday 7th January at 7:30pm! A night to tantalize your taste buds, while you enjoy a very special evening of seasonal entertainment.
In addition to traditional Christmas music performed by the ever popular Nick and Vanessa, we are very excited to announce that this special evening sees a presentation of a brand new performance from award-winning theatre company Brother Wolf: A Christmas Carol, As told by Jacob Marley (deceased). This one-man show, adapted and performed by James Hyland, is a ground-breaking new production inspired by the live story-telling performances of Charles Dickens.
All proceeds from this night will go directly towards the planned improvements to The Space facilities, commencing in 2010.
Reviews for A Christmas Carol, As told by Jacob Marley (Deceased):
this one stands out for its simplicity –in delivering the story- and its complexity in the intricate detail that has gone into conjuring up each character… clever, funny and powerful and so involving that you cannot help leaving with a smile on your face as if you’d just heard the story for the first time. Beth Eyre for Remote Goat
Jacob Marley pleads: Remember what has passed between us this night. No need to plead, Mr. Marley, there’s no danger I’ll forget. Clearly the considerable charm of the evening owes itself to Hyland’s astonishing acting agility. Chad Armitstead for EXTRA! EXTRA!
