On Saturday 24th July, Space regular, David Grindley completed a sponsored walk from ASDA in Crossharbour to the Space. Whilst it may not seem like a long distance, David has Cerebral Palsy and completed the walk by pushing himself backwards in his wheelchair.
David has been a regular audience member at the Space for the last 8 years and a volunteer for the past 2 years. In December last year, David and Centre Director, Adam Hemming, launched A Little Lunch Music, a series of lunchtime music recitals funded by the Isle of Dogs Community Foundation. The recitals continued until May of this year and David and Adam are aiming to raise funds to re-start it in September.

Accompanied by a band of supporters, David took the scenic route around Millwall Dock and completed his backwards journey, weaving through gates, going uphill and down, in just one hour. David has raised over £200 so far and you can help him to reach his target of £400 by clicking here and donating through JustGiving.
